Ellen Rodenberg
- From 1994 until 2002 Ellen Rodenberg worked mainly as a painter. Her work was shown in galleries, art Fairs (KunstRAi), artist-run-spaces and museums. From 2002 she started to make installations next to her painting. These installations are multi-disciplinary: she uses a variety of materials next to drawings, paintings and photography.
- From 2005 she was engaged in organizing the DCR, a “broedplaats” in The Hague. This included renovating the building and organizing open night’s for artists to give them opportunity to show their work and creating an atmosphere of synergetic collaboration.
- In 2006 she started an artist’s collective, (EX)-MÊKH, together with three other artist’s. This collective has since then been active in making and curating exhibitions all over the country.
- In 2008 Ellen Rodenberg took up a residency for three months in Yogyakarta, Indonesia for the Landing Soon project of HEDEN, Den Haag. During this project an idea developed to project movies on flags.
- In September-October 2009 (EX)-MÊKH organized five succeeding exhibitions in N9 stichting Ruimtevaart, a show every weekend. Super B, the cinema in the building was also being used for this project. Ellen Rodenberg made use of this space by continuing experiments with movies, sound/video and installation pieces. For one of the installations Jan Borchers made a compilation from his Chrystal Archives Collection. Also an old 16 mm movie was projected on a screen with four colourfields by Ellen Rodenberg (which has also been used in Yogyakarta). This was accompanied by Cinema for the Ears: Jan Borchers, Electronics, bass, Paul Borchers, drums, synths, Paul klaui, electronics, Leo Jinssen guitar/effects.
